Fed: Govt to release sorry wording this afternoon

The federal government will this afternoon reveal the exact form of words it will use
to apologise to the stolen generations.

The wording will be revealed in federal parliament after 5pm (AEDT) .. ahead of Prime
Minister KEVIN RUDD delivering the long-awaited apology in the House of Representatives
tomorrow.

Mr RUDD says the government is trying to balance the expectations of the opposition
.. with those of indigenous people .. and says there'll be further discussions with the
opposition before the wording is released.
